Truck Driver Institute’s Indianapolis CDL Training facility is well-known as the most respected truck driving school in central Indiana. Serving the area since 2004, we recently moved to a larger, 18 acre facility is a spacious, modern training center, second-to-none in the industry. Couple the modern facilities with our advanced truck driving course material, industry-leading instructors and our on-site state testing facility, and it’s not hard to see why more students and carriers choose TDI Indianapolis as their training partner over any other truck driving school in Central Indiana.
Our 15 day training program is designed for people with no trucking experience but want to complete and get their Commercial Driver’s License in as little time as possible.
Courses are a mixture of classroom and behind-the-wheel training to ensure that you leave our training facilities with the skills, knowledge and experience that major transportation companies are looking for from their rookie drivers.
While training at the Indianapolis training facility, you will learn both the technical and the operational aspects of driving a semi-truck. Some of the technical information you will learn will include maintaining driver logs, reading maps, trip planning and conducting a pre-trip safety inspection of your vehicle. The hands-on portion of our training program puts you behind the wheel of a full-sized 18 wheeler while you learn shifting techniques, turning maneuvers and safely backing up the vehicle. Once you’ve mastered handling of the tractor trailer forwards and backwards, you’ll be tested on-site for your Indiana Class A CDL License!

Our Indianapolis location is conveniently located right off of I-65, just south of the Greenwood Municipal Airport, making it easy to commute for your daily CDL training classes.
Don’t Live In the Indianapolis Area?
Many of our students live out of area but still choose our Indiana truck driving schools because of the high-quality training and established partnerships with major carriers throughout the United States. That’s why we offer lodging for our out-of-town students.
Since you are not required to be an Indiana resident to train for your CDL license here, out-of-state students are also welcome!
