Our instruction classes only last 15 days because we want you on the road as quickly and efficiently as possible. Here is a brief overview of how your time is spent at our truck driving school Sellersburg location.

Week 1: Classroom: You begin learning the technical aspects of truck driving in our Sellersburg truck driving school’s classrooms. Our instructors work with you until you’re confident in the written CDL permit’s subject matter, such as:

We ease you into this next phase by introducing you to low-traffic driving scenarios.

Week 3: Advanced Skills, Testing, and Graduation: Now that you are a master at the basics, it’s time to build on what you’ve learned and acquire advanced skills. You are given a chance to hone your technique on both the driving range and highway. Additionally, we make sure you’re comfortable and confident operating your vehicle in the nighttime driving environment. Once you add the highest difficulty skill sets to your driving repertoire, you are prepared to take your CDL Driving Skills Test-Highway/Street Testing. Brief Overview of the Different CDL Licenses

CDL A

CDL A is the most versatile commercial driver’s license, and it’s the one we focus on here at our Sellersburg truck driving school.

A Class A CDL allows you to drive vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more. It also allows you to tow a vehicle that weighs more than 10,000 pounds.

CDL B

We also offer Class B CDL training here at our Sellersburg truck driving school. The Class B CDL is a good option if you want to do regional driving rather than long-haul, over the road (OTR) driving.

Class B CDLs allow you to drive a vehicle with more than 26,001 pounds of GVWR and tow a vehicle with a weight of no more than 10,000 pounds.

CDL C

Lastly, the Class C CDL allows you to drive vehicles that hold more than 16 passengers. Additionally, Class C CDL drivers can transport hazardous materials, provided they take the proper courses and earn the requisite endorsements.
