Read on to find out how to secure your future and get your new career on the road with TDI.

Our CDL Program

TDI’s CDL training provides students with both classroom and hands-on experience, ensuring they have the necessary tools to pass their CDL exam in three weeks. TDI students will have training hours in the classroom, learn about the mechanics of trucks and laws enforced by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FCMSA), and supervised driving hours. Our program trains students to drive tanker vehicles, livestock carriers, dump trucks, passenger vans, hazmat vehicles, and buses. In addition to these pieces of training, we ensure our students are prepared for the DOT physical exam and drug screening, pre-trip inspection, night driving, map reading, how to plan a trip, and more.

Our staff is supportive, and all of our teachers are former truck drivers, meaning that we are here to support all students every step of the way. Since 1973, TDI has helped get drivers on the road, so contact us today to get started!

Class A

Class A licenses allow operating B and C vehicles, but you might require additional training. Class A CDL is mandatory by law and is what all students are certified with, so it is often considered the universal CDL.

Individuals with a Class A CDL can drive vehicles with a weight of 26,001 or more pounds or a truck with a trailer weight of 10,001 or more. It’s important to note that some states require additional endorsements, so research or contact TDI with any questions. Drivers with a Class A CDL may be able to operate tractor-trailers, truck and trailer combinations, double and triple trailers, tractor-trailer buses, tanker vehicles, livestock carriers, and flatbeds.

Class B

Class B CDLS include freight that weighs less than 10,000 pounds with a single axle trailer. Drivers with a Class B CDL may be able to operate straight trucks, box trucks, large buses, and dump trucks with small trailers.

Benefits of a TDI

The truck industry has numerous benefits, from competitive starting salaries to exploring the country and having the freedom of the open road, but your benefits don’t have to start there. At TDI, we proudly offer all our students a top-of-the-line CDL experience to ensure they have the best start to their new careers. Keep reading to learn more about some of our benefits.

Industry Leader

TDI is not a ‘mom-and-pop shop’ or a ‘CDL Mill.’ We are an industry leader with a respected reputation for excellence, safety, and integrity. In the 50 years that TDI has been around, we have helped more than 50,000 drivers get on the road. Our students enjoy their time at TDI, gain vast knowledge, and feel prepared to begin their new careers. Put your education first, and get started at TDI.

Third-Party CDL Examiner

TDI is also an approved Third Party CDL examiner for every state where we have campuses, and third-party testing is permitted, meaning you don’t have to go to the DMV to take your test. We have 11 campuses in the U.S.; click here to find the one closest to you!

Job Placement

TDI proudly partners with 20+ top carriers who hire TDI graduates over those from other truck-driving CDL training schools. We have an over 86% job placement match and work with each student to find the best fit. Whether you want a job before graduation or want to change carriers down the line, TDI is here to help.

Pre-Hire CDL Job Screening

At TDI, we begin the job placement process before your first day of training. We pre-screen all students based on partner requirements, ensuring that you qualify for jobs in the industry. The pre-hire CDL job screening allows students to enter our program with full confidence.

CDL Job Placement During Training

You’ll work with our staff throughout your three weeks of CDL training to identify ideal employers for your goals. As a result, nearly all of our graduates have accepted one of the many CDL offers they receive while enrolled in our program. By working with our partners, we not only alleviate the stress of finding a job post-graduation but ensure that you will earn a paycheck soon after graduation.

Post-Graduation CDL Job Placement

If you still need to get a job offer by the time you finish your CDL training at TDI, we will continue working with you. We value our graduates as much as our students, so we happily offer free, ongoing placement services. Our post-graduation CDL job placement is also great if you want to change carriers.
