TDI CDL Student Schedules

In our quick and intensive 15-day CDL program, students receive professional driving instruction, spend time doing hands-on training at our ranges, and acquire the necessary knowledge to pass their CDL exams.

Length

TDI students complete 3 weeks of training in our program. In total, they complete 154 hours of training.

Hours

Our trucking schools operate fully in-person from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (with an hour-long lunch break). Students complete 4 additional evening hours of training in week three when they have already learned the basics, making our training far safer than exclusively nighttime programs.

Training Content

The first week of training consists entirely of classroom instruction. Students will arrive at their assigned classroom for a 7:00 AM start. In a supportive, small classroom environment under expert instruction, students will gain an understanding of sections 1, 2, and 3 of their state CDL manual and preparation on how to complete the CDL test. During this time, we help students get their CDL permit, complete their DOT physical, and complete drug screening.

Weeks 2 and 3 are spent completing range and road driving. Students will arrive at their classrooms for roll call before heading to practice behind the wheel with an instructor. All hands-on learning is spent with real trucks, never simulators.

In total, students spend 50 hours in classroom learning, 50 hours on the range, and 54 hours on the road.

The TDI Difference

Our curriculum is designed to rapidly equip students with the skills they need to become confident and hirable professional truckers. By the end of their program, many students have job offers from our carrier partners and feel ready to take on the road.
