Before obtaining a CDL or even permit, truck drivers must undergo a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam. In this exam, they’ll test your vision, hearing, blood pressure, and urine. Additionally, they’ll want to gain a better understanding of your cardiovascular health, physical endurance, and what drugs or medication you are using.
