Murfreesboro Tennessee is located right in the heart of America’s trucking country. Interstate 40 runs 2,559 miles east and west – nearly coast-to-coast and right through the neighboring city of Nashville. Likewise, I-24 and I-65 also cross right through the heart of Music City, USA.

These location advantages translate into one-day and two-day truck delivery times to more than 75 percent of all U.S. markets. Major commercial carriers operate all over the country out of this major crossroads area.

There is a lot of trucking activity centered right here in middle Tennessee, and that’s the same reason why Truck Driver Institute chose to locate a CDL training center here over 30 years ago.

Murfreesboro Tennessee is conveniently located just southeast of Nashville on I-24. We opened a driving school here in 1981 on Old Salem Highway where the World Outreach Church is presently located.

In 1996, TDI moved into a 20+ acre facility at its present location just outside Murfreesboro. This location is convenient to an interstate exit, a service shop and 2 commercial truck stops.

Our Murfreesboro CDL Training Center offers students 2 classrooms, and an enclosed driving range with lots of room to practice parking and backing big rigs safely without outside distractions. Students training for their Class A CDL license with us get valuable OTR truck driving experience here, too, and gain behind-the-wheel confidence in a wide variety of real-world driving conditions.

We are also privileged to be one of a small number of facilities certified by the Tennessee Department of Safety, under the Department of Homeland Security, to provide our students with on-site CDL testing to get their Class A license. This is a real advantage when you can learn to drive and test right here at the same location.

We have a number of large carriers who actively recruit our students every week. Many of our graduates have a job offer waiting for them when they complete their training. Job placement services are provided to every student, and financial assistance is available.
