Our Commitment to Accountability, Student Success & Workforce Education

For more than 50 years, Truck Driver Institute (TDI) has prepared students for careers in the commercial transportation industry through focused, hands-on Class A CDL training. Our mission is straightforward: provide students with the knowledge, practical skills, safety training, and professional preparation necessary to earn their commercial driver’s license and pursue meaningful employment.

TDI reaffirms the principles that have long guided our approach to career education, including fairness, accountability, transparency, rigorous training, measurable outcomes, and preparation for the American workforce.

Merit-Based Admissions and Equal Opportunity

TDI is committed to fair and transparent admissions evaluations, applied equally to all. Applicants are evaluated according to standards that are relevant to successfully obtain a job in the transportation industry.

Environment

TDI understands from experience that productive learning requires an environment that is safe, orderly, and focused on education. We treat everyone with professionalism and respect and understand the right of everyone to hold differing viewpoints. However, TDI does not tolerate harassment, threats, unlawful discrimination, or conduct that materially disrupts instruction, training, campus operations, or the ability of others to learn and work.

Instruction

TDI is a specialized career-training institution, and our curriculum is centered on the objective knowledge and practical competencies required of professional commercial drivers. Instruction is guided by applicable licensing requirements, safety standards, industry practices, and the skills necessary to operate commercial motor vehicles responsibly.

Our hiring and instructional practices are focused on professional qualifications, relevant knowledge and experience, teaching ability, and an individual’s ability to contribute effectively to our students’ education. Political or ideological conformity is not an educational objective of TDI.

Affordability, Transparency, and Measurable Student Outcomes

TDI recognizes that career education is an investment and that students deserve clear information about that investment. We are committed to transparency regarding program costs, available financing options, training requirements, and career opportunities so prospective students can make informed decisions before enrolling.

Our programs are intentionally career-focused and designed to prepare students to enter the workforce efficiently. TDI provides job placement assistance and maintains relationships with motor carriers and other transportation employers seeking qualified commercial drivers.

Academic Rigor, Honest Assessment, and Responsible Use of Technology

TDI maintains clear standards for student performance. Successful completion of our program requires students to demonstrate the knowledge and practical skills necessary to safely operate commercial vehicles and satisfy applicable licensing requirements. Students must meet minimum scores to progress through training, and their performance is assessed by our instructional staff on a regular basis throughout training and made known to the student.

As artificial intelligence and other technologies become more widely available, TDI remains committed to honest assessment and academic integrity. Technology may support education, but it cannot substitute for the individual knowledge, judgment, safety awareness, and hands-on driving skills that a student must personally demonstrate to become a qualified commercial driver.

American Students and Our National Workforce Needs

TDI is proud to prepare individuals for careers that are essential to all states and the American economy. Commercial drivers support nearly every sector of economic activity, including logistics, construction, manufacturing, retail, agriculture, ports, and the movement of essential goods throughout our communities.

Our programs are focused on preparing students to meet these real workforce needs. By providing a direct pathway from career training to employment, TDI helps individuals develop marketable skills while helping transportation employers build the qualified workforce necessary to keep America moving.

Our Continuing Commitment

Truck Driver Institute will continue to hold ourselves accountable for providing students with practical, high-quality training; maintaining industry standards for student achievement; providing clear information about the costs and expectations of our programs; fostering a professional learning environment that respects differing viewpoints; and preparing graduates for opportunities in the national transportation workforce and the broader American economy.

For TDI, educational success is not measured simply by enrollment or completion. It is measured by whether our students leave us with demonstrated skills, a valuable professional credential, and the preparation necessary to pursue productive careers.
