HOW OLD MUST I BE TO GET A JOB IN TRUCKING?

Since most trucking jobs involve crossing the state line, the law states you must be 21 years of age.

HOW FREQUENTLY CAN I GET HOME?

Trucking offers opportunities including over the road, dedicated and regional jobs, many of which can get drivers home weekly. Check out our article on the different types of truck driving jobs and their routes.

MAY I BRING MY PET?

Most carriers do indeed have a pet policy that can include dogs or cats. Guidelines will vary by truck line.

DOES TRUCKING ALLOW ME TO BRING FAMILY MEMBERS OR FRIENDS?

Most carriers do indeed offer rider programs, usually with a minimum age limit for children.

AM I PAID DURING TRAINING?

During your fifteen days of training you are not yet hauling freight and therefore, not paid. Immediately after that you will join a senior driver for on-the-job training and will be paid.

DO I HAVE TO SIGN AN EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT?

Absolutely not! You have no contractual obligations to the truck lines you choose to work for.

HOW MUCH DOES CDL TRAINING COST?

Your upfront out-of-pocket cost will be approximately $200 – $300, depending on whether you require lodging. Most truck lines we work with will help with the balance through their Tuition Assistance Programs.

HOW CAN I QUALIFY FOR LODGING?

If you do not live within 50 miles of the nearest training center, lodging is offered.

HOW MUCH MONEY CAN I EARN AS A PROFESSIONAL TRUCK DRIVER?

According to Indeed.com, the “average” earning of a professional truck driver is $66,480/year, but most truck lines pay by the mile. Find more information on your earning potential as a truck driver.

I HAVE TERRIBLE CREDIT, DOES THAT MATTER?

If we can get you qualified for a major truck line, which is step one, we have ways to strengthen your credit acceptance.

WHAT IF I DON’T PASS MY CDL TEST? CAN I TAKE IT AGAIN?

If you fail your CDL test on the first try, don’t worry! You can take the CDL test up to 3 times at no additional cost to you.
