Fuel
There are great fuel discounts available for truckers to help with your transportation costs.
Many gas stations offer discounts and rewards on fuel for truck drivers. If you join these fuel rewards programs, you can usually access other perks such as free showers, free drinks and refills, and other special in-store discounts.
We recommend truckers sign up for every rewards program available, so you can access rewards no matter where your travels take you. Here’s a list of fuel discounts for truckers we recommend looking into:
| Fuel Rewards Program | Our Favorite Benefit |
| Love’s | Free Wifi for Rewards Members |
| Pilot Flying J’s | Extra discounts for military veterans and their dependents |
| Travel Centers of America (TA) | Points can help you save on truck servicing |
| Sapp Bros | Free steak dinner with an oil change and free pie on your birthday |
Another way for truckers to save money on fuel is to use prepaid fuel cards or discount apps.
Mudflap offers discounts on diesel with either prepaid fuel cards or with the Mudflap app. Their website boasts savings of up to $1 per gallon at over 70,000 locations across the U.S., including 2,800 designated truck stops. There is 24/7 live support available for Mudflap users as well. They advertise that there are no fees for using both the app and the fuel cards.
Other fuel savings programs are available, from other fuel card providers like TCSFuel, to membership in NASTC, OpenRoads, or OOIDA.
Corporate Fleet Discounts
Many corporate fleets offer discounts to their employees, such as:
- Discounted phone service
- Savings on truck parts
- Rental car services
- Online classes
- And more
Check with your fleet to ensure you have access to all of the corporate discounts available to you.
Hotel Discounts for Truckers
Specialized websites such as Hotels4Truckers and Engine make finding discounted hotels with suitable parking for truckers easy. When searching for your next home on the road, simply filter to ensure the motel or hotel of your choosing will include parking for your truck, and enjoy the hotel discounts for truckers that you will find.
Often, hotels attached to truck stops will offer truck drivers significant savings on their stays. Hotel discounts for truckers can be found at truck stop motels associated with Love’s and through loyalty programs, such as the Wyndham Trucker Loyalty program.
Tips we recommend as you’re looking for lodging on the road:
- Call the hotel or motel you are considering booking to confirm there is appropriate parking for your truck before you complete your reservation.
- Show the staff your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) at check in, and ask for the CDL or business rate to unlock extra savings.
- Join loyalty programs to earn savings that you can redeem for free stays down the line.
